Our design approach at 208 Design+Build Custom Homes and Renovations combines our building knowledge gained thru over 25 years as a framing, carpentry and general contractor in the custom home building and renovation industry...with our experience and education in architectural design and drafting, energy efficiency and healthy homes specific design principles. We strive to meet Zero Energy Ready Home, RESNET Energy Smart Building and Indoor AirPlus requirements to create healthy, functional and comfortable living spaces.

We utilize proven methods of building science focused on the requirements to meet the Department of Energy Efficient Homes program (formerly the Zero Energy Ready Home program) and we are a DOE Efficient New Homes program partner and RESNET Energy Smart Builder. We utilize RESNET Energy Modeling and Home Energy Rating System (HERS®) ratings to certifiy our custom homes and renovations. Even if the project we are designing and building is not being built to gain certifications, and certifying a home is not every owner-builder clients direction they wish to take, we still utilize the same proven methods of building science to design and build the best home we can.

The goal behind our methods is to provide the design, craftsmanship and expertise to either complete your project using our skilled craftsman or facilitate the opportunity after drywall tape and texture to provide some DIY work to gain additional equity and ownership in your home. And our skilled trades craftsman and professionals are there to finish off what is needed to make the project shine and get you moved into your custom home.

Our construction management systems are designed to facilitate the project development, design, preconstruction and construction of you custom home allowing the opportunity for as on owner/builder to be part of the process thru owner involvement throughout the building process and the opportunities to save money on areas requiring less skills and expertise to provide DYI work. And because you are the owner / builder this can save you money in the long run while building a well designed and well built higher performance energy efficiency and sustainable custom home for a safer and healthier living environment for your loved ones and family.
